  • Program Offerings

For the 2019-2020 School year, upstairs on the top level of the church we will have TWO preschool classrooms.  Children must be 3 years or older and must be potty trained.  One classroom will be for children 3-4 years of age and the other classroom will be for children 4-5 years of age that are preparing for Kindergarten.  These classrooms will be arranged by centers and will follow both a play-based curriculum as well as include academic and sensory activities that are age appropriate and will develop skills necessary for Kindergarten and beyond.  Snack will be offered in the morning, then lunch at noon, followed by a nap or rest time and additional enrichment activities before dismissal for the day.

We will continue to have two classrooms of toddler aged children.  These classrooms will be divided by a natural break in age or by 12 months (and walking) to 18 months and 18 months to 24 months.  Both classrooms will only have 8 children in them to start the year, with two teachers in each classroom.  That makes it a super low ratio of 1 teacher for every 4 students.

We also continue to serve children aged 2-3 in a classroom with two teachers and up to 11 children.  It is not required that they are potty trained.

The three classrooms listed above will be play-based and include lots of indoor and outdoor play, sensory activities, and social/emotional support.  This means that there may not be a physical product sent home each day with your child, but we ensure you that he/she is learning so much during the time spent at St. John’s.  Snack will be offered in the morning, then lunch at noon, followed by a nap or rest time.

All of our classes are offered Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 2:30 pm.  We offer early care from 8-9 am and after care from 2:30-3:30.  You may enroll in 1-4 days based on your need and our availability.  Enrollment in our program is based on the school year, mid-August through the end of May.  We offer a 6 week summer program.  You must re-enroll each school year and summer and pay a registration fee.  Our tuition fees are based on the age of the children in the classroom and will be as follows for the 2019-2020 school year.

Toddlers 12-24 months in August:  $140 each month per day of the week enrolled

2 years and older in August:  $135 each month per day of the week enrolled

  • Our Curriculum

At St. John’s we believe in the value of play and therefore offer a play-based curriculum that includes lots of indoor and outdoor play, sensory activities, and social/emotional support.  This means that there may not be a physical product sent home each day with your child, but we ensure you that he/she is learning so much during the time spent at St. John’s. Our preschool classrooms will be arranged by centers and will follow both a play-based curriculum as well as include academic and sensory activities that are age appropriate and will develop skills necessary for Kindergarten and beyond.

Beginning Fall 2019 we will be using the Frog Street Curriculum to help children reach developmental milestones.  Click the link below to be directed to the Frog Street website and learn more about what they offer. www.frogstreet.com/about/
