Shepherd Ministry

St. John’s Shepherds provide a committed and informal ministry of connection and care …

The Shepherd Ministry is motivated by the desire to assure that members unable to actively participate in the life of the church are remembered, nurtured and honored.

Shepherds (care-givers) make in-person visits and phone calls to “Lambs” (care-receivers) of St. John’s living in care facilities or confined to their homes, as well as those undergoing hospitalization or rehabilitation.

Caring service to our Lambs includes

    • Monthly visits and phone calls
    • Offer of prayer or Bible verse
    • Birthday and other holiday cards or notes
    • Fresh flowers
    • Christmas poinsettias and Easter lilies
    • Sharing their requests and needs with the Director of Congregational Care as appropriate
