A group of strong women of faith who want to challenge perceptions of what faith is and learn to grow in Christ. The group decides as a whole what biblical, faith or social issues we will study to achieve this goal. The group meets every Tuesday at 9:30 AM, September through May. We invite anyone who wishes to grow their faith in a loving, accepting environment with lots of joyous fun to check us out.

  • Mystic Misfits

We start with a social gathering at 9:30 AM followed by a twenty-minute sit beginning at 10:00 AM. Centering Prayer is usually followed with a DVD or CD featuring a prominent leader in the Contemplative movement such as Fr. Richard Rohr, Dr. James Finley, Fr. Thomas Keating, etc., and the remaining time is spent in small group discussion. We are open to all faiths and to anyone who is seeking a deeper meaning to their spiritual life along the Contemplative Path. This group meets every Tuesday, September through May.

  • Spirits & Spirituality

Connection with people is crucial for physical, emotional, and spiritual health and well-being. Pastor Jim Hoffman at St. John's UMC is hosting a group for young adults in their 20's or 30's who are interested in making this connection. The owners of The Well in Waldo have been gracious enough to let us use one of their larger rooms for us to gather in. Each gathering will start with a welcome, devotion, and conversation. This will then transition to time for everyone to socialize. We will gather on the first and third Thursday's of every month through June 2020. If you are interested or if you would like for your young adult children to receive an invitation and information, please email contact information to stjohnsumc@stjohnsumc.org *FREE CHILDCARE IS AVAILABLE

  • Pastor's Bible Study

Pastor Jim Hoffman is leading a group using a resource titled Wired Word. This resource rotates weekly looking at a current event and then the scriptures. Since it is not a chronological study, you can miss a session or two and still be on track.  Please join us every Wednesday at 6:30 PM.
