  • Program Offerings

On the second floor of the church, we are offering two preschool classrooms.  Children must be 3-years or older and must be potty trained.  Our Bumblebee classroom will be for children 3-4 years of age and the Dragonfly classroom will be for children 4-5 years of age that are preparing for Kindergarten.  These classrooms will be arranged by centers and will follow both a play-based curriculum as well as include academic and sensory activities that are age appropriate and will develop skills necessary for Kindergarten and beyond.  Snack will be offered in the morning, then lunch at noon, followed by a nap or rest time and additional enrichment activities before dismissal for the day.

We will continue to have two classrooms of toddler aged children.  These classrooms will be divided by a natural break in age.  The Ladybug room is 12 months (and walking) to 18 months and the Firefly room is 18 months to 24 months.  Both classrooms will only have 8 children in them to start the year, with two teachers in each classroom.  That makes it a super low ratio of 1 teacher for every 4 students.

We also continue to serve children aged 2-3 in our Roly Poly classroom with two teachers and up to 12 children.  It is not required that they are potty trained.

The three classrooms listed above will be play-based and include lots of indoor and outdoor play, sensory activities, and social/emotional support.  This means that there may not be a physical product sent home each day with your child, but we ensure you that he/she is learning so much during the time spent at St. John’s.  Snack will be offered in the morning, then lunch at noon, followed by a nap or rest time.

All of our classes are offered Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 2:30 pm.   You may enroll in 1-4 days based on your need and our availability.  Enrollment in our program is based on the school year, mid-August through the end of May.  We also offer an optional 6-week summer camp.  You must re-enroll each school year and summer and pay a registration fee.

  • Our Curriculum

At St. John’s we believe in the value of play and therefore offer a play-based curriculum that includes lots of indoor and outdoor play, sensory activities, and social/emotional support.  This means that there may not be a physical product sent home each day with your child, but we ensure you that he/she is learning so much during the time spent at St. John’s. Our preschool classrooms will be arranged by centers and will follow both a play-based curriculum as well as include academic and sensory activities that are age appropriate and will develop skills necessary for Kindergarten and beyond.

Beginning Fall 2019 we started using the Frog Street Curriculum to help children reach developmental milestones.  "The Frog Street curriculum and programs are aimed at one thing: igniting the minds of young children by fostering their academic, social and emotional growth through purposeful lessons and materials that intentionally produce a positive outcome. Our comprehensive, research-based programs integrate instruction across developmental domains and early learning disciplines."

  • Tuition Rates

    2024-2025 Tuition

    • Rates will be posted in January after Board approval. (Please see the enrollment newsletter.)
    • Tuition is due the 1st of each month.
    • Non-refundable $150 registration fee due at enrollment.
    • $35 annual supply fee charged at the beginning of the school year.
    • $7.50/monthly snack fee
Your monthly tuition will remain the same each month, regardless of the number of days we are in attendance that month.  Tuition is calculated for the school year and divided evenly across the school year or summer. Tuition and fees may be prorated at the discretion of the director.  Because of our continuing monetary commitments, refunds of tuition due to absences of a child will not be possible.  You are paying for a spot for your child for the school year.

If your child is no longer able to attend St. John’s PDO and Preschool or you need to reduce the number of days your child is enrolled, you must provide the director with 30 days written notice of the changes and/or withdrawal.  You will be responsible for any tuition payments due for those 30 days during the withdrawal (change) period.

If you need to withdraw your child from the program prior to the start of the school year, written notice is required in order to receive a refund of the tuition deposit that was paid as part of your enrollment fees. No tuition deposits will be refunded after July 15th.
